The Ridicule of Islamic Sanctities (Sha’air): Causes, Consequences, and Solutions

This article analyzes the increasing trend of ridiculing Islamic Sanctities (Sha’air Allah). It begins by establishing the spiritual significance of these symbols and highlighting the Shariah’s categorical condemnation of derision based on primary Islamic sources. The study categorizes mockery into several forms, including attacks on core beliefs, acts of worship, the Holy Qur'an, Prophetic sanctity, and identity markers like the Hijab. Key drivers identified include intellectual arrogance, religious ignorance, Western cultural hegemony, and secular skepticism. The research further examines the consequences, such as the erosion of faith and societal polarization. Finally, it proposes a reformative strategy focused on strengthening faith, utilizing social media for education, and implementing legal frameworks to protect religious sentiments and restore the dignity of Islamic symbols.
