The Prohibition of Illicit Sexual Relations and Health Protection: A Comparative Study in the Light of Semitic Religions and Modern Medical Principles
بدکاری کی حرمت اور تحفظِ صحت: سامی ادیان اور جدید طبی اصولوں کی روشنی میں تقابلی مطالعہ
Abstract
The Semitic religions like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, contain extensive teachings regarding health and chastity. Adultery and illicit sexual relations are strictly forbidden across the Semitic religions. While Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all forewarn of severe eschatological punishments in the hereafter for transgressors, both Judaism and Islam prescribe explicit temporal penalties under worldly law. Conversely, Christianity does not mandate specific legal sanctions for adulterers, instead emphasizing repentance and moral reformation. In tandem with these religious ordinances, illicit sexual conduct carries profound biomedical repercussions, which contemporary medical science comprehensively corroborates. This study evaluates the teachings of Semitic religions regarding fornication through the lens of modern medical findings, drawing upon the primary scriptures and scholarly interpretations of each faith as core reference sources.
