Report of the 5th Meeting of the Editorial Board of the Almithaq Research Journal of Islamic Theology
The 5th meeting of the Editorial Board of the Almithaq Research Journal of Islamic Theology was held on July 20, 2024, at 09:00 AM. The following members attended the meeting:
1. Dr. Muhammad Khubaib (Editor-in-Chief)
2. Dr. Muhammad Talha Hussain (Editor)
3. Dr. Zubair Tayyab (Managing Editor)
The meeting began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Dr. Muhammad Talha Hussain, the Editor, extended a warm welcome to all participants. The agenda of the meeting was then outlined to the board. Dr. Talha Hussain initiated the discussions and introduced each agenda item in turn.

Agenda Item no. 1
To Change the Journal’s Frequency from Biannual to Quarterly
The members of the Editorial Board were briefed about changing the journal's publication frequency from biannual to quarterly. The decision was taken in response to the growing number of submissions and to ensure timely publication of high-quality research articles. It was unanimously agreed that the journal will publish its issues quarterly, starting from July 2024.
Agenda Item no. 2
To discuss the enhancement of the journal’s visibility and impact
The board discussed strategies to enhance the journal's visibility, including indexing in reputable databases and increasing engagement with academic communities through social media and other platforms. Suggestions were made to invite prominent researchers to contribute to the journal.
Agenda Item no. 3
To review the current editorial and peer-review process.
The Editorial Board reviewed the existing editorial and peer-review process to improve efficiency and maintain the journal’s quality standards. Recommendations included establishing stricter timelines for reviewers and revising submission guidelines to clarify the process for authors.
Agenda Item no. 4
To explore opportunities for special issues and thematic calls for papers
The board considered launching special issues and thematic calls for papers focused on current topics in Islamic Theology. It was decided to invite proposals for special issues from respected scholars to expand the journal’s academic scope.
The meeting concluded with the chair expressing gratitude to all attendees for their valuable contributions.
