Digital platforms have emerged as significant sources of income through views, monetization, advertising revenue, and sponsorships. This study examines the Shari’ah status of earnings generated from platforms such as YouTube and social media networks in light of Islamic legal and ethical principles. The research finds that the permissibility of digital income primarily depends on the nature of the content produced, the type of advertisements displayed, the objectives of sponsorship agreements, and the contractual arrangements involved. Earnings derived from lawful, beneficial, and ethically appropriate content, as well as from the promotion of permissible products and services, are generally considered permissible (ḥalal). Conversely, income associated with unethical activities, immoral content, deceptive practices, or artificially generated views and engagement may be deemed impermissible (ḥaram) or doubtful (mushtabah). The study concludes that monetization, advertising revenue, and sponsorship income can be Shari’ah-compliant when content creators adhere to Islamic ethical values, maintain transparency, and avoid involvement in prohibited activities. Thus, digital content creation can serve as a legitimate source of income within the framework of Islamic economic principles.
