This study offers an analytical and introductory review of selected prominent Urdu works on the Prophetic Seerah that incorporate juristic (fiqh-based) discussions, produced during the 19th to 20th Hijri centuries. It explores how these writings move beyond mere historical narration to present the Seerah as a practical and normative source for legal reasoning, ethical guidance, and socio-religious organization. The paper examines the methodological approaches adopted by scholars in integrating jurisprudential discourse within the biographical framework of the Prophet ﷺ. It highlights the ways in which legal rulings, principles of fiqh, and applied aspects of Islamic law are derived from events of the Seerah, thereby demonstrating the dynamic relationship between historical narrative and legal theory. Special attention is given to how these works address contemporary challenges of their respective periods by contextualizing Prophetic guidance within evolving social and intellectual landscapes. Furthermore, the study evaluates the scholarly significance of these contributions in shaping modern Urdu Seerah literature, particularly in strengthening the applied dimension of Islamic jurisprudence. It argues that such fiqh-oriented Seerah writings play a vital role in bridging the gap between classical legal theory and lived realities, offering a coherent model for understanding the practical implementation of Islamic teachings.
