Abstract

Over time, Islamic concepts have increasingly become obscured by the pervasive influence of non-Islamic practices. It is imperative to reestablish the authentic Islamic spirit within these concepts by comprehensively understanding pre-Islamic practices (Jāhiliyyah) through the lens of Qur'ānic wisdom. Societal structures can be analyzed in three distinct components: first, the religious beliefs or ideologies that define the society’s ideological framework; second, the prevailing general inclinations that reflect the collective mindset and social dynamics, often shaped by powerful classes or sects; and third, the customs and traditions that manifest in societal norms and cultural expressions. In the context of Jāhiliyyah, the actual disorder and corruption within society are frequently not immediately apparent. Even when such disorder is acknowledged, the underlying cause deviation from Allah's guidance may not be fully comprehended. Addressing this deviation is essential to mitigating societal restlessness, dissatisfaction, and suffering. The concept of ignorance, or Jāhiliyyah, transcends historical and geographical boundaries, encapsulating any era or society that diverges from divine guidance. Therefore, a profound understanding and rectification of these deviations are crucial for attaining peace and tranquility in any societal context.
