Abstract

The life of the Holy Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) has been declared by Allah Almighty as the quintessential model for all of humanity. Consequently, the study and composition of the Prophetic biography (Sīrah) hold significant honor and importance for Muslims. While numerous scholars have contributed extensively to this field, Dr. Muhammad Yāsīn Maẓhar Ṣiddīqī stands out as a distinguished contemporary biographer. Dr. Ṣiddīqī diverged from traditional methodologies and introduced innovative thematic approaches in his Sīrah writings. His work comprehensively explores the social, cultural, and practical dimensions of the Prophet's life, with a particular focus on the Meccan period. Contrary to the commonly held view of limited information about this era, Dr. Ṣiddīqī emphasizes its foundational significance to Islamic thought and civilization, proposing it as a complete model for contemporary Muslim minorities. His distinctive style and thematic focus represent a notable advancement in Sīrah studies, demonstrating a commitment to both innovation and scholarly rigor in biographical research.
