Abstract

The foundation of the family in Islām is blood ties or marital commitments. Islām builds the family on solid grounds that are capable of providing reasonable continuity, true security and mature intimacy. Marriage is a part of life, family as well as society. The universality of marriage in different societies and cultures is attributed to the basic social and personal functions. From Islāmic point of view, marriage is a religious duty, a moral safeguard and a social commitment. Besides the above importance of marital status in Islām, both the spouse’s i.e. male and female faces some social and marital problems which is required to be solved. The aim of this paper is to discuss the marriage institution in Islāmic framework and its roles and significance in current global human society and to present a solution to the problems of family issues in the light of Qur’ān and Sunnah.
