Allah Taʻālā granted man a unique status among His creations and endowed him with the ability to speak. In the Qur’ān, the Almighty says, "Allah has given man the ability to speak." This ability is more than just communicating; it allows one to convey ideas, touch hearts, and express original thoughts. Historical references indicate that poets were highly respected in the Arabian Peninsula. The tribes made poets a source of support and expressed their honor and nobility through them. Due to the short duration of the reign of early Islam, later historians and researchers have paid less attention to this aspect of biography, particularly the services of those Companions who conveyed the teachings of Islam through their poetry. These Companions were not only among the nobility of the Arabs but, as soon as they embraced Islam, began to spread the message of the religion through their verses. This article examines how the Companions preached and invited others to Islam through their poetry and explores the themes of their works. A thorough study of their poems and the biographies of these poet-companions reveals that their poetry is deeply rooted in the context of the Prophetic period. Moreover, their poetic works contributed significantly to the conversion of many tribes to Islam. By highlighting the services of these Companions, this article opens a new chapter in the biography of Prophet (ﷺ).
