Abstract

In an era of unprecedented advancements in education, institutions and nations take pride in their innovative teaching methodologies. Yet, for Muslims, it is vital to highlight the timeless and universal training principles derived from the Prophetic Sīrah, which offer unmatched guidance for nurturing individuals and communities. The Holy Qur’ān identifies tarbiyah (training and nurturing) as a key mission of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), who proclaimed, “I was sent as a teacher.” This study explores the Qur’ān, Ḥadīth, and the biography of the Prophet (ﷺ) to uncover foundational principles of education that remain profoundly relevant today. These principles include welcoming students warmly, fostering respect, encouraging inquiry, promoting critical thinking, utilizing repetition for clarity, combining theoretical and practical methods, explaining concepts through examples and gestures, and embedding moral guidance through prayer. The research highlights the compatibility and transformative impact of these principles on modern educational practices, emphasizing their enduring value. It also calls for further exploration of the Prophetic teachings on leadership, commerce, and economics to provide holistic solutions for contemporary challenges.
