Abstract

This study explores the psychological and social implications of atheism from an Islamic perspective, focusing on its impact on individual well-being and societal structures. Atheism, characterized by the denial of God’s existence, challenges fundamental Islamic tenets, including belief in God, prophethood, and the afterlife. The research highlights the psychological repercussions of atheism, such as existential despair, anxiety, and a diminished sense of purpose. Socially, it identifies atheism as a factor contributing to the weakening of familial bonds, moral disintegration, and societal discord. Rooted in the teachings of the Qur'ān and Sunnah, the study underscores the necessity of a holistic and proactive response to the challenges posed by atheism. It advocates integrating Islamic principles with contemporary intellectual and scientific methodologies to effectively address the underlying causes and consequences of atheistic thought. Furthermore, the research provides actionable recommendations for educators, policymakers, and community leaders to promote a society grounded in spiritual, moral, and social harmony.
