Abstract

The art of writing a Travelogue has a significance in the transformation of a civilization. Through this literary genre, one can well know the apparent situation, geographical and environmental features of a country, it can be a depiction of that country’s culture and civilization as well. First type of information may also know as apparent perspective. This apparent perspective can be cited easily almost in every travelogue writer’s writing. If there is no style in this description, it may be felt spot narration only. The second type of information consists upon a country’s culture, civilization, tradition and history which may also known as insight information. Every travelogue cannot interpret insight information. Only a deep vision of history can make it possible to deliver all such information. The travelogue of Islamic Republic Iran titled “Idhn-i-Safar Diyā Thā Kiyun” is written by renowned historian Nigar Sajjad Zaheer. The present paper aims to study the Islamic culture and civilization discussed in the travelogue.
