This research delves into the theological issues as perceived by the Murji’ah, a significant Islamic sect that emerged during the early centuries of Islam. The Murji’ah are known for their unique stance on faith, actions, and the nature of sin, particularly their belief in deferring judgment on a believer’s faith to God alone. This investigation study explores the core theological principles upheld by the Murji’ah, including their views on Īmān (faith), Kufr (disbelief), and the relationship between faith and deeds. By analysing primary sources and scholarly interpretations, the study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how the Murji’ah’s theological framework contrasts with other Islamic schools of thought, particularly in the context of early Islamic debates on orthodoxy and heresy. This research also investigates the historical and political factors that influenced the development of Murji’ah theology and assesses its impact on later theological discourse in Islam. Ultimately, the study sheds light on the enduring relevance of Murji’ah thought in the broader spectrum of Islamic theology.
